If you buy one as a spare though, the warranty starts as soon as you buy it so if after 6 months you need to use it and it blows after 5 minutes then you have no warranty. There are halogen bulbs in B+Q for £5 which are the same size as these bulbs and produce heat and light but not UV. They would do as a spare. I have one that I was going to use outside under cover, I can't remember the exact name of them though

I do use Nutrobal most days... unfortunately I got the Bulb that blew off ebay and have no receipt for it
I'll have a look at the connections thanks for that advice ..
So it would seem that the Solaglo isn't the best UVB bulb to have for reliability on UV levels and on how long it lasts.
Baring in mind I have the Exo terra reflector shade to fit the 125/150w Solaglo is there any better UVB bulbs that will fit this shade so I can get a back up?

Found it but it's now £6.28, ok for an emergency though. It's called GE PAR 38 Flood http://www.diy.com/diy/jsp/bq/nav.js...&isSearch=true that's 120w,

you need to hunt about for them or write it down and ask, they are not (or when i got mine they weren't) kept with the other lighting stuff
