Acting like a boy!
Hi
I have two THB who are only 16 months old. However, one of them has taken to mounting the other, head back mouth open! Would this be a dominance thing or is Louise trying to tell me me a change of name is required. The other tort has not displayed such behaviour although she/he is bigger than Louise. Your thoughts would be appreciated thanks Sarah

Hi,
It is a dominance thing. I have larger females who will still do this to each other for a while when they get together after hiberation or a change of enclosure. Small male tortoises like to practise too! They're probably a bit young to tell for sure if they are male or female. |

It could be you have a male and a female tortoise. Or as has been said it could be a dominance thing.
But if one tortoise is larger than the other, and wider in the middle, you could have a female:0)
