Eric is worried
Hi all
Eric is all worried about one of our new baby torts, Grenade. She has only eaten a few leaves since coming on saturday (in comparison to Grunt). Eric baths her and makes sure she is hydrated and all. He is worried because she is not all that active compared to Grunt and she has not had a poo yet, grunt has had two. I keep on telling him that I dont thing theres much to worry about, just that they have different personalities and that Grunt is a month older. Someone please please tell me its all ok and normal if torts are bit off the first few days in a new home. Eric is driving me crazy!!!! Thanks Amy

Yeah I know. How often do baby hermanns poop???
Eric is now cheering because Grenade just took a poop in a bath. Its so cute he has a log about their behaviour and baths and eating and all. But thats awesome so we can watch everything. "YES SHE MADE A POOP".......i will now get some rest tonight!!! thanks all

Try not to worry, some torts take a while to get settled into their new home. Females are usually alot quieter than males too, so maybe you have one of each

Tortoises can take a while to settle in to a new home. Some take longer than others.
If a tortoise doesn't eat for a few days or even a week or so. I still wouldn't worry. Keep hydration up with daily baths and a little patience and your new tort will settle

I agree. Everything sounds fine. Some take a while to settle in. My 2 wee and poo constantly. I don't think I can compare to others, they were born to be different

Try not to worry......
My tort hardly poops in the bath either she ussualy does it when she's back in her enclosure but thats not very often. When i first had Tucker....she wasn't eating proper for about 2 weeks maybe a dandilion once every 2 days.. I think it's just they're settling in....Coz its all new to them really They're prob not used to being looked at and handled so much and haing so much attention Try not to worry they will be fine

Yeah no worries, hydration is important, more than food at the mo, they can soak up water through there shells, as well as drinking it.
