Default my hermann got out of its run

my one year old hermann got out of its outside run today .
It went next door it was lucky they were in , do not no how he got out he is only little do you think he will do it a again.

Can you give us some information on your run?
If they have done it once, they are more than likely to do it again.

tortoises love to explore , so if they got out once they will get out again ,
try and find how they got out

Hi Jackie,

You are so lucky your tortoise didn't get too far away. Little bugger, lol, must have fancied a good wander around, you should check your run every day before you put or let them out, just to be on the safe side, they only need the smallest gap and they are off.

Glad the story has a happy ending though, but please beware.

my tortoise loves to wonder around just the other day i had my patio doors open and i was letting him freely wonder around the garden (wihich is fully fenced off) and he climbed up the patio into the house!!!! lol took him outside quik and cloosed the doors

If your enclosure has corners, then make sure they are topped. As they will shimmy up where
they can. Also they can climb fences. And get through the smallest of holes.

the little bugger went throught a little hole where my other half never made the run propley,there was a little dip in the ground .he has just found it,and made it safe,( i hope) it is made up out of a log roll,and looks very nice,
