So sorry to read your post. You have come through so much with Horace, and you love him so much. As others have said don't give up.

Our weather in Scotland has been more like November than August for weeks and weeks - except for today! Today it has been warm and I found Cosmo!! Cosmo is a male Horsfield who had been missing for 8 weeks. I came home from work and simply saw Cosmo wandering outside the tortoise enclosures. Like you I had looked and looked but couldn't find him. I had stopped looking and assumed the worse - but the heat brought him out of wherever he had dug himself into.
So please keep positive, Horace may just reappear. Also remember to be kind to yourself just now because you have lost someone really important and that is always tough. X

Such a lovely post. Thank You. It's three weeks today since Horace went walk abouts
No sign of him. I have now given up, but still look, I must stop that. I know I said I would not get another Tort but after my operation(Still waiting) I am thinking of getting another Tort if I am ok afterwards.
I miss Horace so much. I know I am stupid but I still say Good night Horace before going to bed.
Again Thank You for being so Nice

Hope Horace does come back but also hope you can find it after your op to give your love, care and experience to help another little tort in search of a very good loving home. It certainly wouldn't lack the care and attention. I hope your operation goes ok, please let us all know won't you how you get on regardless, stay strong, stay safe, CB

don't give up hope - tortoises have a funny way of turning up. My friends tortoise actually belonged to her grandparents but went missing for a couple of years - then reappeared in the garden when she had taken over the house.

You are so RIGHT! I have been very ill this weekend almost called 999 in the early hours, I am now a bit better. It's dull here not very warm so why I went out the back I don't know. Anyway I looked no sign of Horace looked next garden and THERE he was
Almost a month gone, I looked in the next doors gardens so many times and they have now been cut four guys were cutting the grass last week, they did not see him.
So I don't know where he went BUT he new where to I was
You guys have been great. I did take in all you said but I never thought I would see Horace again. He is now eating his pellets, this eyes are good his noise dry.
