I think it would break RSPCA rules to keep a guinea pig in that hutch either. It's such a pity such hutches can't be illegal to sell. I dread to know the amount of bunnies and guinea pigs kept in those 'coffins' on a permanent basis.

We have a hutch that size for our female pair of piggies but they only ever bother going in on a night time the rest of the time they are munching on the lawn.....can't remember the last time i got the lawn mower out ........they are very environmentaly friendly in that respect.

I thought it might have done as an outdoor tort shelter with the legs whacked down a bit.

I know nothing about rabbits, what is the legal size of hutches?

Good idea michelle, i'm thinking of taking the coldframe out as they just hardly ever go in there for whatever reason. I wondered if it was just too dry in there so I watered the soil inside but no difference

I suppose the hutch would work as it will be nice and dark on the one side and warm from the sun being on there. You could get one of them little plastic storage containers with a hole cut into it, and use that as a little coldframe incase they decided they did want one after all
