I think you can be pretty sure now that they are both females. Male Hermanns at that size have obviously long tails.

Not unheard of in the human world either
Every little egg deserves a chance just in case!!! You never know how many randy male hermanns are roaming these streets in devon!!! I shall keep egg incubated just in case good practise anyway! |

thought I would come back and update you all sice you were all so kind enough to reply to me. Torts went to my lovely reptile vet to be microchipped today. Vet has some hermanns of his own and was asking how mine were. I mentioned one had laid an egg but that we had pretty much established they were both girls. Dropped them off all fine.
When I went to collect them vet had done a free Xray on pebbles and confirmed she had another egg in her and also confirmed that he believes bambam is a boy!! So I guess we have to wait for her to lay her other egg now although she is in a very bad mood due to the microchip so it could take some persuading!!!! Going to build her a nice deeper egg site tomorrow in her hutch and pray she lays!!! As for bambam being a boy! well maybe its a mixed sex tort |

Maybe a few warm baths might encourage her to want to lay Emma? Good luck, keep us updated

Thanks Lynn ill pop her in the bath in the morning - she's snoring at the moment!
Unsure whether to move her out of her outdoor enclosure and pop her in a nesting box or pop a nesting box in her outdoor house? I don't want to unduly stress her really and wonder if removing her from her house will make her angry :O |
