I should say so, you wouldn't want to dangle anything that tempting in front of him.

How did it come to be in your bath, was he passing and fancied a dip? I have visions of a turtle in a shower cap, surrounded by bubbles and a plastic duck bobbing around and his toe stuck up the tap.

Its becoming common now to see turtles in our waterways. So many are being dumped and they seem to do well in our climate. Nice pictures Bev

Could have it been a Painted turtle?

A local chap caught him while he was out fishing and he somehow knew we had a tortoise so he came round and asked my mother if we wanted "Tonto". That was what he had called him, he must of been a Lone Ranger Fan. I got home a few hours later to find a note and a pissed off turtle in the bath. Sorry no rubber duck, but I think he preferred real ducks anyway. Tonto did a very good impersonation of snapper if you got within range of his incredibly sharp beak.

I had a Chinese Water Dragon for 17 years and she loved a swim in our bath too, Lily had her own pool in her habitat but it wasn't big enough for a proper all out legs back swim.

Yes could well have been a female painted. My turtle sexing and ID'ing at that time was pretty bad and it still is. Anyway I found Tonto a nice home just down the road from us where he could continue to enjoy the west country sun.

You never know it could have been Gamera and he needed some coal stoking to keep the fires burning.
