Resident Turtle at work
Here is a couple of pictures of our resident turtle that lives in the massive pond in the grounds of where i work, they are not very good pictures becasue i was the other side of the pond and he was basking in the island in the middle of the pond, he is quite a big turtle, dont know what type of turtle it is though....wish i had a zoom camera, i really had to try and zoom in on my mobile but the picture is not a good quality x
and this is where he lives, you xcan just make him out in the distance, the pond is 4 or 5 times the size of this picture......

Very true, all unwanted pets that have grown too large and been irresponsibly released into the wild by their owners. Lots of sliders around the country, I came home to find one in our bath many years ago, it had been caught in a local waterway. (it was huge, healthy and very aggressive)

Yes as far as i am aware, dont know how it got there and neither do the security, he lives there 24/7, he is very large. Someone may have put him in there when he was younger we dont know. but he is doing fine out there, he must dig himself right into the mud when its cold i would assume x

Wow I didnt know that... very interesting! Where are sliders originally from? They have done well to adapt to UK conditions. When I manage to find a job..... I'd love to be able to look out of the window and be able to watch a turtle. Have you ever approached it?

Yes I can't blame him for wanting to bite me either, he was lovely animal with a very flared shell and a orange plastron, definitely a slider but not a red eared. Luckily we had a separate shower.
