These have been, and certainly are being sold in the Chinese Food markets. However,for the time being, the supermarkets in question have suspended the sale of Hard Shelled turtles- due to welfare issues.
The whole group of Cuora turtles remain extemely threatened! Because they are slow to reproduce, typically only one or two eggs per year, these are just so vunerable!! |

Thanks for you good wishes. Whilst I have had eggs from these turtles for some years now, untill now I have struggled to get them to successfully hatch.
However, their cousins the Cuora amboinesis though still in very limited numbers are easier to incubate! |
