are you talking about the change from the breeders name to yours if so this only needs to take place if you are thinking of selling or breeding, the torts have to be chipped before you send off the papers, mine will be done when they are much bigger as the chip is fairly big compared with their legs, about the size of a grain of rice, it looked big going into my adults leg and I imagine painfull as she had no local anasthetic, so if yours are babies I wouldn,t worry about the name change for a good few years if ever.

There is no nead to change the details until the SCL is 100mm or more, then you will need to get them microchipped and your details will be added to at this point, along woth the microchip number.
The only other reason to get the details changed would be if you were going to sell the tortoise on to someone else, otherwise you will be fine with the breeders details on the top of the article 10. Ade

I was saying earlier that I think 100mm is to small to be chipped the vet took two goes to put the chip in Tootsies leg and she is a 35year old spur, it had to go into the hind leg and the chip would be nearly as long as my two hermans legs and they are the required length, I,m waiting untill they are much bigger before I have them done.
