Indeed, what a terrible shock, two very talented people in one week. I loved Allan Rickman as an actor, he was brilliant, and had so much more to give. Such a sad week.

oh no I didn't know. He was one of my favourite actors. I liked him in Love Actually. Bill Nighy and Alec Guinness...super actors too. ...Audy Murphy...how very sad. C

I was too very sad. I LOVED him in Sense and Sensibility. What a hero. Everything a Jane Austin fan liked!
He was so naughty in Robin Hood..... |

...Robin hood, wasn't he a baddie in that. I loved the way he looked at people and spoke. Was he Scottish? CB

And a baddy in Die Hard. That film launched him in those sneery, nasty (but lovely nasty) roles. Sad. xx

I remember first seeing him as Mr Slope in " The Barchester Chronicles" I think that was even before die hard. He could be such a good baddy and also wonderfully gentle as he was in truly madly deeply. A great loss.

Such a brilliant actor. His portrayal of Snape was so much like the character JK Rowling created. My daughter and I watched the Tim Burton version of Alice in Wonderland again over Christmas and his voice was so distinctive that we recognised him immediately as the caterpillar.
What a week for such sad news but huge credit to them all for managing to keep their battles private and to be able to spend their last months, weeks and days with their beloved families and closest friends without intrusion from the press.

I must live in a bubble, I had never heard of that guy and quite a few of the other actors that died in the past year
