Think you are right, im not often out when its raining watching the torts, but on hot days I give them a few waterings a day and they do often go to the loo.

Natural rainful is beneficial for your torts, especially if you have a few that will not drink readily. Because when it rains, a torts instincts kick in, and you will quite often see them standing very high on their back legs, the rain flows down their carapaces/shells, they then drink the water running off them. My female Hermanns are always reluctant to drink when I offer it to them in various ways, but as soon as they see the rain, they drink naturally...T.T. 8)
