Default Hybrids

Just a very stupid & curious question really.

I know people have succesfully Bred Leo's & Sully's together but has anyone ever done it with any other breed of Tortoise?

Thanks.

Out of sheer ignorance I once put a male graeca with a female ibera. She had loads of infertile eggs but I had One hybrid hatchling. Both spurthigh torts but officially different species. She is healthy and good looking with more ibera traits showing but I doubt she would be able to have babies and I wouldn't give her the chance. Not a good idea but I'm very fond of her.

Good question Heppard, one which I was wondering about the other day. I have seen on here Marginated/Spurthigh cross's but wonder if the likes of Hermans/Horsefields or any other torts could cross?

Yes there have been other hybrid tortoises produced. Mostly within the genus Testudo and Gopherus. Spur-thigh/Marginated, Horsfields/Hermanns, Hermanns/Spur-thigh, Redfoot/Yellowfoot, Desert/Texas, Desert/Bolson's, Bolson's/Gopher, Elongated/Travancore and Radiated/Redfoot.

Interesting question - I'd like to see a photo of a Hermann/Horsfield cross!
