I wonder if you can have 2 left or 2 right, then someone with only one leg can have one upstairs and one downstairs.
My granddad used to moan about that, he refused to pay for a pair of slippers or shoes when he only needed one. He was always looking for someone with a right leg missing to share the cost. Bless him.
