12 noon? On a weekend? You'll be lucky, unless I can point the meter out of the window from my bed. But I think its a great idea, I'll do a UVB and temperature reading on Saturday at 12 noon. And I've just ordered a Solarmeter 6.5 so eventually I'll be able to do UV index in conjunction with the Solarmeter 6.2 uw/cm2 reading. It would be useful to note if its bright, partially cloudy, overcast etc too. |

I will try to remember to do it. the problem will be getting the weather the same in both places unless we can persuade the Chinese to nip over with their weather changing gear that they used at the Olympics
Actually there is a Solarmeter group which is linked to from the uv guide website but I haven't been on it. I assume they will share readings info etc. I took a reading just now at 9am and it was 12. Thin cloud Last edited by Alan1; 05-03-2010 at 09:02 AM. |

I put my baby Willow in a long window planter filled with soil yesterday at lunchtime, and the temp in the sun was 29 0C, he was out for about 45 mins with me while I tidied my garden up a bit, he lay and snoozed in the sun while i worked!

I had a quick probe whilst getting ready for work (at half 11 ) this morning.
Bright sunny day, no cloud, 86 uW/CM2 at 11:30 I'll try a midday one with some temperatures and conditions tomorrow, however I am going out tonight and there will be sherberts involved. Dont hold your breath. Alan, I know the UVGuide UV recordings is an open group, I'm going to look into it, but they have asked for anyone with a Solarmeter 6.2 to feel free to add their own readings. |

I am going to keep a record of a lot of readings over a period of time and then they can have them if they want. I did another at noon today and it as only 21 uW/CM2, medium cloud (you could see the outline of the sun but could look at it without hurting the eyes)
it's actually brighter now than at noon |

Took Torty outside today, but it was a little too cold for her. She tried to dig down so I brought her back in. She like it scolding and nothing less
