Horsfield Egg Development
Thought I would share these pics as I find them fascinating, and I thought perhaps others might too.
Day 2 Just beginning to chalk Day 4 chalking more obvious Day 6. Chalking almost circles the egg Day 11 embryo visible now Day 13 I could see the heart beating very easily Day 16 veins visible Day 20 Getting bigger. Moving its head a lot Day 24 the eye is visible and when it moves you can just make out little limbs |

These are excellent photos. Thanks so much for sharing. Please take more throughout the rest of the incubation period if you can as they're so helpful to first-timers. I know I relied on photos a lot when I had the incubator on. It's great to have something to refer to and your photos are so clear.

Thank you 😊 I am taking them for my daughters teacher because they have never heard of tort eggs being incubated before!
Emma, I would love to take pics all the way through but I am on holiday for a fortnight so will have a gap in the development. My husband, bless him, has just bought home a nighttime Internet camera so I can check they aren't hatching whilst i am away. I wish there was a remote candling device so I could keep a really close eye on them!!! I will take more in the days before I go and I will add them here though. |

Ah, not to worry. Have a wonderful holiday. Sounds like there'll be babies soon after you get home.
