nooooooooooooooo i have the male version of ur name.

anyway they live about 2-3 years but longer is not uncommon. they will eat all the bad things that u shud not feed to ur torts, fruit and such.

aster, barley, beans, bindweed, California boxwood, almost any cabbage variety, camomile, carnation, carrot, cauliflower, celeriac (root celery), celery, ripe cherries, chive, citrus, clover, cress, cucumbers (a favorite snail food), dandelion, elder, henbane, hibiscus, hollyhock, kale, larkspur, leek, lettuce (liked, and makes good snails), lily, magnolia, mountain ash, mulberry, mums, nasturtium, nettle, nightshade berries, oats, onion greens, pansy, parsley, peach, ripe pears, peas, petunia, phlox, plum, potatoes (raw or cooked), pumpkins, radish, rape, rose, sorrel, spinach, sweet pea, thistle, thornapple, tomatoes (well liked), turnip, wheat, yarrow, zinnia. suitable for them and they will like soemthing out of all that.

u just need peat in the bottom of there tank and a cuttlefish. spray every 2 days and feed twice a week. thats pretty much it. if u ahve babies aswell then but them in a brown paper bag and leave 48 hours in the freezer.

Can i just add some snails have been known to live upto 8 years in captivity I feed mine fresh food on a daily basis unless they seal themselves of course, which my adults have currentley done so, but feeding and changing food daily helps cut out those horrid flies and mites. Also never feed pasta, as this can be fatal and course bloating in a snail.

that really depends upon the type of snail and generally it is wc snails that live longer. may i ask why wud anyone think of giving pasta to a snail anyway.

Well oviously some peeps have fed their snails pasta (mistake of course) and later found out it was a horrible mistake, iv read a few threads on this, its an easy mistake just like peeps feeding pellets before realising there not good for torts.
