Default herman tortoise what sub

Hello
i hope these pictures upload, i took them on my mobile.
what sub species is he? on the top back of his shell there is a extra bit of shell growth in between the segments, is this normal? and there is a picture of my enclosure, i hope this is a good set up for him.

You have an Eastern Hermanns, Testudo hermanni boettgeri. That isn't an extra bit, it's a reduced bit. Tortoises normally have 5 vertebral scutes running down the middle of their back. Your Hermanns' has the 4th vertebral scute very reduced (that little bit your seeing). This is a very common abnormality in CB populations of Hermanns tortoises, usually they are missing the 4th vertebral scute all together.

thanks, i was hoping it would be a boettgeri, these sub species grow slightly larger i have read somewere. what size is normal fully grown?

Seeing as your Hermanns is a female, than 7 to 10 inches is normal adult size for a female.
