hi sorry terry, no wish to cross swords,
but the torts do seem very keen, i cant see any valid reason to keep any creature this way, and i do feel it should be what suits the animal rather than the person it use to be said, that you should not feed a dog every day and that they should miss at least one days food each week you mention hydration, why not hydrate with food daily |

My tort always enjoys two feeds a day,i'm now cutting the size of his afternoon feed down to try and dwindle it down gradually and lights ready for his four week s without food,it's very difficult as he loves his food,i have always given approx the amount of his shell size and he has a beautiful smooth shell.
