Hello Turnip, looks like Spring has arrived in my greenhouse too!
It's her first nest, and I didn't think much would come of it. I was preparing a deeper soil-filled box for her to practice in for the next few days (as the one she was digging in has only 5" of soil) but by the time I'd made the nesting box up, and found the camera to video her digging, she'd laid two eggs, and another female had come to see what all the fuss was about. The other females were removed immediately, and I left her to finish her laying (5 eggs) and fill her nest in. She's had a nice warm bath and something to eat. No idea if the eggs are fertile as I've only had her for 18 months, but they are in the incubator.

Well only time will tell i don't take out my females or the male;e they stay together all year round

Hi Gordon, I keep the females together and the males separate, because I don't want to breed. I see so many out there looking for homes. It's the same reason why we got rescue dogs instead of puppies. That said, I'd love a golden greek

but I'm staying an Ibera girl. One of my males got in with the females last year - only for about an hour until I caught him with his pants down - so to speak - and I got two hatchlings as a result. I said I wouldn't incubate any more, because I wouldn't want to part with any resulting hatchlings. And because I'm a big weak-willed breaker of all my own rules type of person, I've got five eggs in the incubator - hubby will go mad. But it is excruciatingly exciting. hey ho, I must remember to get out more....
