Default Outdoor housing ideas

Although I'm less keen than some of the guys here to work in the cold! I do at least need to start planning our upgrades for this year.

The house I build for them last year is still going strong - and I'll be sad to push it aside, but I'm thinking we need to go for a new structure for practicality and size.

So, my current thinking is to buy one of these:

You can get winter 'jackets' for the entire house, and I can replace the mesh for glass/plexi-glass, and beef up the insulation inside.

But it seems to have a number of compartments (for easy cleaning/feeding), and enough room if (for whatever reason) we have to separate them.

I'll be building and increasing their run outside too, so this will sit at 1 end of their run.

I've looked at chicken houses last year and considered them, they are good and you can change them as you please. That's a very nice one you are getting x

I love that! I was looking at something similar at our garden centre

You can never have too many opening doors
I thought it looked suitable as it had some good height in the main house area, and I did like the separate feeding hatch, and the 'close-able' run if I don't want them running too far in the day (for example).

How many tortoises do you think would be comfortable in there?

I've seen people use those for chickens. They've said they're really flimsy and that the mesh can easily be broken into.

They also don't have much sunlight coming into them.

well, it's for 2 tortoises - the flimsy comment is worrying, as I do want it to be solid.
I'm not worried about the mesh as:
