Anyone with young kids??

Hi.

My son has just had his first term of pre-school and has got his first case of head lice. I'm sooo not happy. He isn't bothered at all and has quite enjoyed all the combing to get the evil things out. The problem is i've got dreads! I REALLY don't want to cut my hair off as it's so cold now. I have a built in hat. I'm not even sure I've got them too but since we are always together i'm gonna take it as red that I do. Just wondered if anyone can tell me what the strongest and most reliable treatment is. I've been using Headrin for 3 weeks. It worked on Toby and he is all clear but I still combed out the odd live on. Obviously I can't comb my hair so wanted to try something super strong to give it one last blast. I HATE the little t#@t's. What gives them the right to eat my son's head? :@

I would imagine that if you can't comb then if they die there'd be bodies in your hair

the idea of that to me at least would be worse than having it cut or whatever it is you have to do to get rid of dreadlocks. (I assume they're what you mean) is cutting them the only way to change your hair? can't they be combed/teased out with lots of conditioner?

Hi. I know what you mean about the dead ones. It makes my skin crawl at the thought they'll still be there. But the hoover works wonders!!
I could comb the dreads out with conditioner but would take a life time. I'd rather just cut them and have it short.
I really don't if I do have them. My husband has been checking and not found anything. Plus all the washing and waxing I do I can't imagine it would be a very nice place for them.

pixie i have worked with children for over 30 years

and yes occasionally ive been attacked by lice lol

now i routinely knit comb with conditioner twice a week

understandably this is not an option for your self

Wow linda. Thank you so so much! That is amazing. I just can't stress how much I hate them. They are just so cheeky.
I have my fingers cross Tobes' head stays clear and it's a good indication that I don't have them. But I may have to re think my hair style. I can't go thru this till he leaves school!!! It's cost over a tenner just for the metal comb!

What happened to Derbac soap ( think thats what it was called) We used to have our hair washed with this regulrly when I was a kid, and I've never had nits, and hopefully never will.
