Hi Jonathan
I'm not good at posting pictures. They do build large nests light crocodiles rather than dig holes and then they guard the nest for a few days after laying. The eggs are soft shelled like terrapins but the size of billiard balls and need lots of humidity. Fortunately mine have only ever laid infertile eggs as they aren't the easiest tortoise to find a home for. Mary |

You do need a lot of space for them, but worth it if you have.

Such stunning specimens too! I have to admit to becoming quite green with envy at their lovely enclosure. Thanks for sharing that, Jonathan.

Yes those browns are just so cuddly looking. I'm sure they're not really but they have great appeal.
Chris has enclosures that make most of us despair! He's got loads of lovely turtles such as diamondbacks which are just stunning. And he has breeding groups of hermanni hermanni from several different regions of the range of that tortoise. So he's got his Spanish/Majorcan group, and a separate Puglia Italian group etc. It's really quite exceptional, I'm not aware of anyone else having anything like it.
