Default Dosing tortoises with wormer etc.

My two leopards both started to pass pink and brown urine so had their poo looked at by a specialist vet who said they both had large amounts of giardia lamblia. He said they had some coccidia but only a normal amount, nothing to worry about. The treatmnet was Flagyl to be given three times,15 days apart. The first time I offered the Flagyl,I crushed the dose between two spoons and sprinkled it on some cucumber which they rarely have and they love. They turned their noses up so I binned that dose and started again using chopped opuntia which they also adore but don't get very often and this time it was greedily sucked down. 15 days later I did the same and again the Flagyl was eagerly scoffed. Then, this week,I offered their 3rd treatment but this time neither Leopard would touch the doctored opuntia. I had some baby salad leaves in the fridge which again, they don't get offered so I cut the Flagyl tablets up into small pieces and folded them up one by one into a small leaf and offered the parcels which were snarfed down as fast as they could swallow them----bits of pill included--------result! The vet also said to give the torts some live yoghurt after using the Flagyl.
