how often should i change my substrate?
tim has a topsoil, playsand mix in his indoor rabbit cage, I damp it down regularly and remove any old food he doesn't eat. How often should I change his topsoil/sand??

Well I thought orginally around once a fortnight but now choose too leave it a little longer but like you said clear old food, poop and uriates.

I do mine approx every 6 weeks, but I am quite fastidious about picking out poo, urates, old food etc and I spray and 'turn' it regularly.

Spot clean daily, mix the soil every 2 weeks and once the soil doesn't seem to hold the water too well or it gets those horrid flies that's when I change the soil

I turned the soil today and added a new bucket full. it looked all nice and fresh and fluffy when id finished. Tim had a good nose around when I put him back, think he was exited about it.He seemed like he was having fun exploring again
