Make sure you ask the vet for consulation fes, those vet are exotics specalists and i have a feeling consultation is £50 +, i hope thats ok!!

But theres no better vet to deal with your torotise!!

no havent rung the vet, been trying to sort out my 3 kids and put them all to bed.

If you have a syringe then flush that wound with salt water to remove the wood chips, and keep on towels as others have said until you can see the vet urgently.

One of my torts, tommy got attacked by a fox, and he is doing great now, his injuries where very similar.
untill you can see a vet, wash the wound with betadine, or iodine, then keep the tortoise on an old towel, or paper towels,
keep the heat up, and keep washing the wound to keep infection from getting in.
The vet will give a baytrill injection (Mine did) and then clean out the wound etc. My vet told me to paint iodine onto the shell to keep it clean.
Chances are the tortoise will survive if you stop infection from setting in.
As a member, wizzasmum, can vouch for (she has been minding him)
it really is awfull to see this, but its great you are there to get them sorted.

The poor little thing...How is he doing today? Keep us updated on his progress...Hopefully he should make a full recovery with the right treatment
