Tortoise MOT
Howdie!
Will any of you be taking your torts to get checked over at Proteus this weekend? Had my leaflet for Barney & Sandies spring MOT so I will be taking them on Sunday afternoon. It is at Brockswood Animal Sanctuary in Sedgley West Mids, taken mine for the last few years and find them friendly and helpfull. |

If this is one of the days where a lot of people are taking tortoises then I would never take any of my tortoises to an event like this. The risk of cross contamination is too great and I wouldn't want to put any of my animals in this situation. I went to one a few years back (without tortoises) and it was awful to see people handling each others tortoises of various species without washing hands inbetween.

Even if they washed their hands and used antibac between handling the torts, I think the risk of Herpes is too great to take the risk.
