Great British Menu
Does anyone watch this on BBC2? I really enjoy it .. and yesterday a guy made a puree from... wait for it ...
ribwort plantain! They were all discussing how they had never heard of it before, and I felt oh so knowledgeable! lol They used the brownish heads not the leaves, and apparently it tastes a like ceps!

ceps are mushrooms no i never knew you could eat the same plants as torts can eat :O maybe ill have some plantain with my dinner tonight lol! My husband will literally think i've lost the plot

I like watching that programme too, didnt know it had started again, it used to be on at 5 pm, is it still on at 5pm? although as soon as i get in i sort tortoises and take dog for a walk, but really like that programme as well as masterchef when it is on. Although i cant cook fabulous meals to save my life lol X

Thankyou for that, ill look out for it, i never tried scallops till i watched masterchef, i cooked them wrapped in bacon on a bed of lettuce....yum yum x

there is a website that I found once where this guy in the USA has all the edible weeds and what to do with them - e.g. salads or cooked etc. can't find it now though
