Tortoise eating poop
I apologise if I have posted this in the wrong place. This morning my reddfoot did a big poop right next to his food bowl, I caught him eating it, I quickly moved him and removed the poop. I'm guessing this is normal? Disgusting little thing!

Maybe the weeds taste better once they've been digested a bit

They all tend to do it at times as in fact a lot of herbivorous creatures do. Not nice but they would come across such things in the wild and no doubt there is some essential goodness remaining!!!!!!!!

Mine do but not very often.
I did catch one of my hermanns eating dog poo once....I thought he was being quiet so I went to investigate, he had managed to find a bit that we missed...I made sure I game him a good shower then bath just to make sure non was left on him. He seemed to be really enjoying it too...not sure why though. |

One of mine (14cm in size) did this a while ago but the poop was dry and hard and about the size of a large raisin.
The poop was too big; she had her mouth wide open and couldn't close it. It was stuck half down her throat, don't know how long it had been like it, just as well I was home at the time. It was a bit of an effort removing it with a tooth pick but got it after a minute or two, it was proper wedged in. I remove all poops now when I see them. |
