2 torts have reappeared
Just been on stolen tortoises site . Great news 2 torts have reappeared after being missing for 8 months . Both have gained weight but one dehydrated with sore eyes. Were found back in their pen. Could the thieves have brought them back and if so why?

Atleast they were reunited with their owner that is a weird story though don't see why they did that?

no they would most likely have dug down last year to hibernate. I think a lot of torts that are reported as stolen have in fact simply either escaped or just dug down to hibernate. It's been a very mild winter

The owner and vet are convinced they have not hibernated. Even though the owner would have prefered the thought of them digging down. They have gained far to much weight.
Perhaps the novelty wore off or they had a guilty conscience whatever they are home safe where they belong |
