feeding reds over winter months any advice greatly appreciated probably a very daft question to be asking as we are all baking in temps over 34 but whilst you r pondering my question let me set the scene ... a crisp frosty morning ... a high wind with hail during the afternoon ... snow strarts to fall early evening ... BLISS also is there anything i can do to prepare in advance thanks |

Well Linda, You aren't far off the mark with your winter question, my Mum was on the phone to me from England and she saw on the news gritters out gritting the roads!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry guys not because of the snow and frosts but because of the extreme heat and the roads melting. lol Whatever next eh! Ade

This is where you pay a visit to the supermarket and start with fruits for them instead.

linda for my redfoots i still find edible weeds right through the winter but there are occasions when its far to misrable to go
on a lengthy walk around the loacal waste land looking for scraps of weeds. So what the best thing to do is resort to a packet mixed salad called Florettes Crispy Salad this is a combination of mixed salad lettuce, rocket ,endive greens .Added to this is as Mandy suggests one of the dried weed leaves nowbeing offered for sale this will add the bulk fibre needed plus your normal fruit rations and of course calcium\multi vits-mins Darren

thanks folks
not heard of these dried weeds where do you buy them or do you dry your own is what is the best method we will still be doing long walks whatever the weather .. the dogs need a minimum of 1 hour off lead you can imagine the resulting soggy mess on 4 legs |

so in theory would it be best to start collecting & drying weeds
i've never really noticed before in which months do the weeds become scarce how long do they keep do they keep anyy nutrients after being dried or are they just used for bulk and fiber thanks |

Wherever you get your dried weeds from- make sure its not tortoise-health, as you are aware, she recently contacted people on ebay trying to seel her stuff, but contacting people that aren't her customers- (She did it to a shelled warriors shop customer)
She is a nasty piece of work when it comes to ebay. |
