Sow thistle?
Well despite all this heat I have found a weed growing in my back garden. I'm hoping your going to tell me its sow thistle and if its not then please say its edible

Looks like it to me Peter<g>. They can grow really tall.

Pete you have a smoth sow thistle growing there if you water it well and be kind to it like Sandy said it can grow very tall upto 3ft and give you many flower heads that will in turn throw off loads of seeds
Once this has happened you can harvet the leaves and remove the seed heads the plant will regenerate and give anoher fush of growth and even flowers Darren

Thanks Darren I will certainly look after it and hopefully I can harvest the seeds and have pleanty of it to feed the torts. Won't need to water it at the moment its pouring down here

flower buds
This may sound kinda silly, but torts can eat the buds from sow thistle right? Coz my babies seem to love them!!

I dont see why not surely its just like eating the flower. Wait for someone elses opinion on this I wouldnt want to say definately.
