Default Iodine / betadine

I cant get Iodine. Usually a local chemist stocks it at about £1 a small bottle. I have tried several chemists & today a horse/animal feed supplier who reckoned its something to do with EU regulations.

Anyway I am now confused! (easily done) I could have had provodine iodine spray/cream from the horsey place. I already have a spray of this (savlon)seem to remember Dan saying only to use it once as it can be very harsh on the skin.

So are they the same ? ( I think not) I am looking for something as a general wound cleaner - not that I have any wounds to clean but I looked after a friends tort for a month who had been attacked by a fox & used up all my supplies, so just to replace them.

thanks for any help

Not sure exactly which you are looking for but both amazon and Ebay have a variety of different ones available

In the past I have used Tamodine, maybe that is more available?
I get it through my Tortoise group though so not sure if it has also had restrictions applied.

I tried a few months ago to get some iodine and was eventually told by the chemist at sainsburys that it was an 'old fashioned treatment' and chemists don't generally stock it. X x x xhugs x. X

Like Alley, I keep Tamodine in, which seems to be readily available.

Funny you should ask. I have been looking for some too. I have a small bottle my vet gave me for the dog but it's running out. You could ask you vet for some maybe.

Plenty Tamodine available http://www.petsathome.com/shop/en/pe...l-(online-only)

And I think this is what your looking for here although I have never bought it before betadine http://www.amazon.co.uk/BETADINE-POV.../dp/B00BKVPBLG

Lots of it on ebay but I dont know if I would buy stuff like that from ebay, lots of it from Thailand.

Tamodine is a weaker form of iodine, I believe.

Burnt Toast I know you did enquire with me but wondered if you did look up Aquspray? it is a sterile solution (Spray) with sufficient pressure not to cause pain but enough it rinses bacteria etc out - everything swished ! , the vet prescribed for my little one. I was so impressed I have bought some more over the net. around £6 odd.
