Default bathing a tortoise

What's best way to go about bathing a hatchling just to let them sit in very shallow water that doesn't go higher than they can lift there head or do they like it trickled over there heads i have read that you can clean there shells with a soft toothbrush but is there anything else that's a need to know like ideal water temp or should it just be warm to the touch same sort of thing for human babies and gals thanked so much in advance

Exactly as you've said shallow warm water for about 15-20 minutes a day with a soft toothbrush if needed ?

Just warm water seems fine. I use a plastic chocolate tub as a bath and it works a treat for littlies! I love seeing them flopped out in the bath - looks so comfy!

My hatchling Chester has an empty ice-cream tub for his bath. He loves to sit and chill in it and does all his toileting too.
I've not needed to clean his shell with anything. Just make sure the water doesn't get too cold.

I wouldn't use a soft tooth brush on a hatchling, the new growth is soft, so you could damage the new shell growth, I would just trickle warm water over the shell while they soak in the bath, if you think it looks a bit muddy.
