Introducing my two hingebacks :)
Its been a while since i posted about two hingeback tortoises was wanting to get - i did get them just after that post and here they are!
They are kinixys belliana nogueyi and im unsure of the ages but Phoebs is 8 inches under the shell and 1265g, while george is 6.5 inches and 600g. Phoebe is friendly enough, but is also an antisocial, stubborn, feisty little lady who likes to bite toes or any bit of skin she can get near. She is living separately from Georgy, partially because she's an angry little thing, but also because we're trying to help her overcome a heavy parasite infestation. Two rounds of panacur later and we think we're there! Poor little George arrived with MBD and couldn’t lift his own head, shook when forced to support himself in the bath, walked with his legs splayed out and couldn’t lift himself off the floor very well - he struggled to climb over slate tiles! Now the little terror runs everywhere and climbs anything in sight! His diet and appetite still need improvements as his old addictions are proving hard to break and persuading him to try new foods is nigh on impossible. But we’ll get there! He's so friendly and is such a cheeky little thing! |
