Chelonia books - where to buy
You often find second hand book shops ... are there any that sell/specialize in second hand chelonia books? Many people buy books then decide they no longer want them. Any ideas? Thanks.

We always look on Amazon and their second hand book sellers' links, plus of course good old eBay!

Good idea ... but you pay P&P. I wondered if there might be any shops to cut the cost further?
Thanks Clare.

Very true, but sometimes you can get the second hand ones from Amazon for as little as 1p so when the p&p is added - normally £2.75 it doesn't seem too bad!

Fantastic link ... but couldnt find second hand. Have you ever bought second hand books from internet book site? Are they in good condition? The other advantage of a shop is that you can see the book before you buy.

I get most of mine from amazon.com. ( not co.uk). They list second hand dealers who have copies. They are usually so cheap (ex library for example) that even with international postage its worth while. I got all of David Carrolls books for about £20 after paying £30 for his first one in the UK.

Chelonia Books
I attended a meeting of the British Herpetological Society yesterday which was held up at ZSL. Though, the program of speakers were not particularly Chelonia orientated. The foyer of the meeting rooms, had an excellent book stand. JG Natural History Books. Aside a great selection of newly published works, he also had a stock clearance section with amazing bargins to be had.
Many of these were rarely seen texts and a good selection of Chelonia related topics. J G Natural History Books, are always worth checking for titles in this subject! I came away with a newly published book on The Indian Flap Shelled Turtle, by Dieter Gramentz. |
