my tortoise is not eating
hello to all...lalya my 3 year old tortoise has almost stopped eating...its been almost 3 weeks now and we have tried a mast selection of food but with no luck
she used to eat daily but we will be lucky if she has a mouthfull once a week! has anybody please got some suggestion as we are really worried..we bath her daily..she's in a table top set up NOT a vivarium!!! please please can anyone help?? gary. |

Have you tried bathing her? Perhaps her digestion is sluggish and this would help

hi please could you say what sort of heat and lighting you have your substrate and of course what type of tortoise is it.

are you able to check inside her mouth to rule out mouth rot or mouth injury

When you check inside her mouth, check its nice and pink, if its pale, a visit to the vet ASAP is needed. A trip to the vet to have a check up would be a good idea anyway.

Have you tried reptiboost in her bath? When mine went through a time of not eating I kept batheing him in reptiboost as there is glucose in it, it was feeding him slightly until he started eating, which didn't take long after bathing him in that.

been bathing her daily now....and good news..she ate today!!
her mouth is a pale pink in colour and there are no signs of worms...so hopefully she's on the mend!! thanks for all your help and advice and nows she abit more lively i'll get some pics of her to show you all my thanks from me and her (layla) gary. |
