Is it possible for Roxy to lay another clutch and they be fertile? Or will she now only lay fertile eggs? X

Roxy may lay another clutch yet, and those might turn out fertile, so I'm keeping close watch.......but yes I am so broody x
I know exactly what you mean, Bev. It's awful seeing so many torts on these sites. I have similar reasons for not breeding my lot. I'm hoping to give my ladies a life of luxury. Plus despite being a wonderful experience, incubating is also pretty stressful too and I'm not in a hurry to repeat it.

As you say, Roxy may surprise you again and if she does, I really hope they'll be fertile. If Spart has paid her a visit I'm sure you'll know about it this summer.

Too late this year as all my tortoises have laid their eggs. But next year if you have no fertile eggs, you can have some of mine. I have had four clutches but all left in the ground:0(

Yes Emma so maybe non fertile horsfield eggs is a positive thing for me anyway, sad but true

But I would still love to experience it just once x

It is an incredibly special and rewarding experience, despite the nail-biting and anxiety. I really hope you get to put yourself through it too, Bev. Seeing a new little life hatching from its egg is a real privilege. Don't feel downhearted Bev, just have a good think of when you'd like to do it. I know there are loads of unwanted torts on preloved and such sites, but are you realistically ever going to rehome any and are the people who will take on your torts when you aren't around likely to rehome any either? No, because they'll have all yours to care for!
But you would keep a hatchling or two from your own torts, so maybe have a think whether you'd seriously like to have a horsfield date night or wait for a Golden Greek one.
As you say, you only live once!

Haha Emma, your a woman who makes a lot of sense, all my torts will outlive me anyway, then when I'm gone I won't be able to worry about it, life experiences are for now x

Well I didn't want to be seen to be encouraging you BUT we never know what is around the corner and we need to make the most of life and do what makes us happy. I'm sure you'll give things a lot of thought over the next few days, Bev.
