Can a use a canopy over my tortoise table?

I am about to buy a 24watt Arcadia D3+ T5 22inch 12% UV bulb I am planning on getting a canopy for it to place over my table is this okay would I be able to get a canopy over the table? I thought they were only for terrariums or screen cages.

This is the reflector i plan on getting it comes with the bulb mentioned above.

What do you mean by canopy? I have a reflector on mine to direct the light into the table, but this doesn't cover the whole table

you need to make like a set of fitba goal posts and fix it to the underside of the bar. it's best if it's to one side I think so that there is a bit of a gradient of the UVB but it's up to yourself at the end of the day. they apparently come with fittings that go on the end of the bulbs and clips that can be screwed to the wood similar to the clips in a fish tank hood that holds the bulbs in place

I don't have a full hood like that (sorry I was looking on my iPod touch earlier and the link didn't show)

I have a controler like this

If i use the hood shown in my post would i have to buy a controller or will the reflector come with something i can plug into the wall?

I imagine the controller would be built into the hood. It is on our aquarium. I have no experience of viv hoods.

In the US we call those reflectors. A canopy would cover the entire opening of the top of the tank/terrarium.

Depending on the size of your table you would have to get creative to mount the canopy or reflector. This is as simple as making brackets on the sides of the canopy to attach to the side of the table.

email the manufacturer to see if they make a bracket or hanger to use the reflectors on a tortoise table.

i could be wrong but it looks like you would only be getting the canopy and you would still have to buy the bulbs and the controller - single or twin depending on whether the canopy has one or two bulbs. it says 24w 60cm but that is only referring to the size of bulbs it takes i think. Ask arcadia john by pm or email, it's an arcadia set up
