Incubator help
Hello,
We're just looking into buying an incubator, could anyone recommend a good one? I'd like it to be reliable but don't really know where to start! We keep Greek Spur Thighs, they haven't laid yet but I'd like to do my research and get one before they do! What sort of size/weight do they generally have to be to start laying? Sorry if that's a bit of a tricky one to answer. Thanks for all your help!! Gemma |

Hi Gemma for years I have used the Hova-Bator incubator which is basically a polystyrene box and very crude but has always worked for me. Last year however I invested in a Rcom Max 90 which is much more sophisticated and does humidity and more accurate temperatures but not sure that it is any more successful and is more expensive. Not sure about size but would have thought around 2kg would be good as you don't want them laying too early as egg laying takes a tremendous amount out of their bodies. Mary

Thank you for your help! Mine is a bit under 2 Kg so I might wait a bit longer!
