Converting Vivarium..
http://usera.imagecave.com/nickowen/ConvertingVivarium/
I did a similar post on another forum last week and thought I'd post here also. Like soooo many people I was sold a Vivarium as part of my 'Start-Up Kit' and later found out these aren't the best idea. The link is to pics of the changes I did and below is alittle explanation. First pic is how it was originally. I then removed the glass and the wood pieces that held the glass in. I mounted the UV tube to a section of one of these and then re-attached it. I built an arm for the heated bulb also and attached that. I lined the base of the Viv with water-proof, non toxic pet-feeding mats to protect the wood from the damp. I then tacked the cable down all tidy and put the temperature sensor through to the basking area, about 1 inch about the soil/sand. I then added rocks, water, food plantpot etc. Have some hemp and limestone on the way in the post. Any feedback/comments??? Thanks, Nick. |
