In the wild
Just found a couple of pics I thought I'd share (quality not great). *I took them during an expedition in Madagscar a few years ago. *The first pic is of a*Boa *madagascarienis and the second is George the Iguana who was resident in camp for a while.

Very nice pictures The first one though is a Giant Madagascar hognose snake, Leiohetrodon madagascariensis. The second (George) is a chameleon, not sure on the species.

Thank you Dan. I did think as I was writing "Will memory fail me?" The snake was massive as was George, but there was a really small snake with a spade/hook shape nose, sand colour. I had this in mind as the hognose, do you have any idea which species I might be on about. I'll dig out some more pics at some point.

Sounds like one of the Madagascar leaf nose snakes of the genus Langaha.
