Wilf the Yellowfoot (one of the Famous five)
I gave Wilf the chance to stretch his legs today so that I could check him over. He is very wobbly (similar to my female hinge backs just after they have laid eggs) and it seems like maybe he can't see very well . He also makes a lot of gulping swallows (no noise). Nares are clear, no sign of mucus. I got him to eat a worm by dangling it by his nose and he reached right up, neck at full stretch. Inside of mouth appears normal. He has a little whitish lump on the outside of his neck. On the positive side he is cute, inquisitive and allows me to stroke his head . I'm guessing he needs plenty of calcium alongside the protein that Danny has already suggested. Already in love with the little fella! Pics to follow.

The gulping swallows are normal for a Yellowfoot. When they breathe they tend to pump their throats, especially when nervous. You'll really love when he starts to make noise It's not quite chicken clucking like Redfoots but it's close

Lol can't wait for the clucking! Wilf's vision is definitely impaired so is there anything special I need to do for him?

Oh Jackie I really think we collectively did a good thing by buying and splitting up these torts. If someone had bought them all and continued to keep them together I have the feeling the outcome would not have been great. Here's hoping that we can turn things around for them. Is Alexandra ok or is she light as well?
