Default Kinixys Homeana

I have a 12 year old Home's Hingback, which I incubated to be female.

I'm wondering if anyone else has captive bred these guys as she is the only egg that ever hatched for me and I hate seeing her on her own.

Twice I have relented in pet shops and bought young wild caught specimens, although I know I should not! Each time the poor creatures died within a week.

Are there any UK breeders out there?

Thanks

Zoey

Ah another hinge keeper, great news! I have 3 erosa-LTC probably, as only 4 or 5 confirmed captive breeding incidents in the world I have found, although a few sketchy 2nd hand reports from Eastern Europe- which are very similar-the ranges overlap. There are a few CB homeana kicking around, someone I know is selling an adult breeding group of 6 CB by a zoo for 1500 at the moment. There are a few breeders of them in Europe as well. As an adult CB, you have a pretty valuable tortoise-£300-400 I would say.

I don't want her to be lonely.
She's really started climbing around restlessly this year! I do wish I had room for 6 more that would be amazing!!

They are such great tortoises.

Her parents were adorable, but her mother had a fall into the water trough and drowned before I found her, the male refused to eat after that and pined away in less than a week!! I was devastated!!

I can't believe it's so hard to find cb homeanas.

Not enough LTC to start those colonies. Most die soon after importation.
