Hi Andy

If getting wet causes shell rot, then we wouldnt have any tortoise around. As it does rain
in the wild, and nobody dries them<vbg>. Shell rot is usually caused by some damage
to the shell and bacteria setting in.
Tortoises actually enjoy the rain.
As for drinking my smaller tortoises drink readily from the containers in their enclosures.
I do use rain water for drinking.
