Default Some of the turtles I've seen this year

Snapping turtles

A male fresh out of brumination

A female looking to nest

A female laying eggs

2 spotted turtle females

A male box turtle

I've seen stinkpots, painted turtles and diamondback terrapins (just no pictures of those yet).

Danny

Great pictures Danny, I like the pretty Spotted and Box Turtles but was interested to see the Snapping Turtle nesting, it looks as if there is another nest above her or maybe she started digging there then changed her mind?

I do think snapping turtles are beautiful! Really would not want one to bit me though!

Fabulous photos. They've all got such lovely shells. Are these all to be found close to where you live Danny, or have you photographed them while on your travels?
It must be so nice to have them living locally.

How wonderful, same question as Emma, is this near where you live. It must be fantastic to have these on your door step.

You lucky thing. They're all stunning.
The main animal inhabitants of my town are seagulls and they can be real pests!

Oh that is lucky!!
Same here Emma, birds are the main inhabitants, we get the seagulls up by us if Porthcawl is too rough (weather wise), we have a lot of pigeons in town and collared doves by me. They nest in the trees behind my garden. We see the odd hedgehog and rats as there's a school and brook behind my house and a railway line, cycle track and river, then factories behind my mums (which is opposite me).
No turtles or torts walking down the road
