Poki is all grown up!
I used to be active here about 8 years ago. In that time, Poki has gone from a tiny hatchling, to a "huge" adult at almost 4 1/2". Just thought I'd stop in and say hi. I've been thinking about trying to find her a mate.
Testudo kleinmanni I'm not happy with the pyramiding, but I don't think it is TOO bad.

Hi there! and welcome back.....a few old friends have been coming back to shelled warriors and it's been great to meet them again.
I've not kept this lovely species myself but I believe it's not at all easy to grow them smooth in captivity. There's very few keepers of this species here in the UK where most of our members are. Super photo by the way.

I read this forum daily but don't generally post. However, having been an active member of other forums I find this particular one a great mix of humour, friendliness and fabulous information. I guess it is praise for the forum if members return.
Poki is lovely, and I suspect I would be very brave to say .... Does the pyramiding matter. I know all endeavour for very smooth shells..... But the way we keep torts has to be trial and error though sadly the 'error' is only found out ages later. X x x hugs x x x Stella x x |

Thanks, everyone! This always was a nice forum. Unfortunately, the facebook explosion seems to have really hurt a lot of the reptile forums. I hate that because I think forums are a much better way to have archivable information.
Ozric, this species is pretty rare over here too. They're great little guys though. Stellane, I suppose the pyramiding doesn't matter much since I don't think it is near the point of affecting her health. But, I'd be happier if I'd grown her as smooth as egyptiandan grows his.

I'm not on Facebook, but as you say, forums have archived information and sometimes old posts can be really helpful. Facebook groups can't possibly offer that. This is such a great forum that's it's always lovely to welcome back old members, especially as they have experience to help new members just starting out.

Welcome back poki looks lovely,I've recently
returned to sw forum after a while away too...the forum does def seem quieter than I remember but I did and still find this is one of the best place a for info on care and most importantly doesn't seem to have the usual keyboard warriors that jump on people who try/do something differently
