Missing Them
Now all my torts have been down for a little while, I've suddenly had a real pang of missing them today. For the first few weeks I didn't mind, it was a break to be honest from weed hunting and bathing etc, and things are so busy at home, I've started working more and of course Christmas is soooo busy.
But seeing a pic of Andy 1's Stars has really made me yearn for the spring when I can get them all out in the garden again. I have one that is being overwintered, but it's not the same, I don't like seeing him in a tortoise box being kept on newspaper, I know he hates it and i feel guilty every time I look at him. I'll miss the hatchlings when they have gone, I still have 5 at home but 3 are going on sunday and the other's before xmas, I'll miss having something in the house. I'm having one of them back for 2 weeks in Jan as the owners are going away and I always say I'll look after them if needed so that will be nice, I've not seen it for a couple of months but after that it will be nothing untill the adults wake and hopefully there'll be some more hatchlings in the summer.
