boys and girls...
I have three lovely hermanns.
1 boy Spoon, and 2 girls Hermie and Wilfee. All was well. But last summer it has been revealed (primarily by Jeff) that Wilffe has been fooling us all and is infact a boy. I love my babies so getting rid of him would not be an option- so the ratio needs tweaking. so the question is how many females hermanns is the minimum for two males, all kept together? could I get away with only 3 females? I realise that sometimes they may never all get on happily anyway or they may for a bit and then things may change and they may need to be seperated. thanks xx

Hi Katie,
It is generally thought that at least 2 females to one male, preferably 3. You may be ok with just 3 females to 2 males but as they mature they will pester the females. The more females you have the less stressed they'll be by all the amorous advances. Males can be ( and usually are) incredibly persistant |

Also the larger enclosure you can offer the more chance you have of being able to keep them living happy.
But I think you're probably going to have to at least separate them at least some of the time, with 2 males and only 3 females. |

Personally I would wait a while...male hermanns can be very terratorial and aggressive. It may well be that you have to seperate the males whatever ratio you decide on....just a thought...
